"Alex was fantastic: insightful, supportive and always positive. He helped me work through problems that have been simmering for years, and which I thought would dog me for life. Thanks to Alex, the future is a brighter place for me."

"When I was recommended Cognitive Behaviour Therapy I was very dubious that it would be of much use to me, or that I would feel comfortable talking through my difficulties with a stranger. By the end of the first session I was entirely reassured on both of these issues.

Without telling me what I should or shouldn't be thinking or feeling, Alex elicited responses from me that put my troubles into perspective and gave me the confidence to realise that I was quite capable of overcoming them. He was interested, concerned and reassuring in a way that I really was not expecting, and over the course of a few weeks I came to value the sessions a great deal.

Perhaps less critically, although equally important to me being in a busy job, Alex was adaptable as to when we could have our sessions. This made organising the CBT meetings around my work commitments very straightforward. This contributed considerably to the relaxed nature of our meetings.

Even if you are suspicious of beginning a course of CBT, I would very much encourage you to give it a go if it has been recommended to you. In particular, I would endorse Alex as an outstanding counsellor. When I think of how nervous I was when I first approached him, I can't help wishing that someone had been able to point out to me just what a positive experience Alex's CBT sessions were going to be."

"Earlier this year I commenced CBT with Alex. I suffer from anxiety which had worsened over the last year partly due to a big event I had to attend abroad.

It had become acute and was interfering in the enjoyment of my life and I was starting to avoid doing things. I have had counselling before but have not experienced any changes with my anxiousness over the years. Therefore it was with some scepticism that I entered into CBT as my family were insistent that I should give it a try.

Well I have been proved wrong. Over the weeks and months Alex has worked hard to help me work through my condition. My scepticism has turned to wonderment. I cannot believe the change CBT has made to my life. The event came and went and I suffered no anxiety and enjoyed the holiday that followed. I have since been enjoying life and although there have been times when I have felt myself relapsing, I put in place all that I have learnt and the recovery is very swift. CBT worked where other counselling failed I will always be grateful to Alex and his patience and I know that if the anxiety ever gets bad again I can call on him. "
